transcript: Handmade garden path PART 1: Preparation This is not an advertising of any equipment! I am not a professional builder and do not pretend to be! In this video I want to show only my experience of building a garden path at my country house. All existing knowledge gained through trials and errors :) Please leave your comments, likes and dislikes. I will try to answer all your questions. My tools: putty knife small; putty knife big; level; flat screwdriver; trowel; chisel; mini hoe; pump-action sprayer. I'll try to tell you what to do with such a mold for making concrete tiles. I always wanted to make at the country house a beautiful walkway. I found on the web such a mold, which can be filled with concrete. Here's how it looks from below, divided into 9 virtual stones. I have already made this walkway through trial and error. So now I'll tell you how to do and how not to do to get a pretty walkway! Before making a walkway, you need to make a basis for it. I made basis with sand, thickness 10-15 centimeters, carefully leveled and rammed. I used a level and water. Plastic mold must also be installed using a level. So, for the beginning put the mold next to other tiles or just put on the ground. Then take a level and try to set the mold horizontally. I installed an empty mold next to withered tiles, slightly above them, maybe 3-4 millimeters above, because the new tile will give a shrinkage after filling. Don't set empty mold flush with other withered tiles, let it be slightly higher, Then it will give a shrinkage and will be flush with the other. But do not do far above other tiles, no more than 2-4 millimeters. Also check the level and clearances from other sides of plastic mold. Here it goes back to back, I will have to raise up plastic mold slightly. Then we exhibit the level of the entire mold. Check the level in all corners. Has to be in level, Has to match the level here, Measure like this and we measure here, Also we measure level along the diagonals. All levels should be the same. To make tiles evenly and without warps. Get to work ... I forgot to say! Before setting the mold and aligning it to the level, desirable to lubricate it with some grease. I take used motor oil. This should be done, to easily remove the mold after pouring from the hardened tile. Also, plastic mold not so quickly deteriorates and concrete mix does not stick to it in this way. Therefore, the entire form must be lubricated well inside. Now you can fill this mold with concrete mix. You can fill only concrete mix or combine it with gravel. Both variants have right to live. Although, I think that it will be a bit stronger with gravel. And consumption of concrete will be less. Do as you like. Personally I do with gravel. It takes me almost a full bucket of gravel for one mold. Next we start filling the mold with concrete... By the way, here is the result of unsuccessful tile. I remove a mold very early and a tile flowed out a bit. Stones came out with a curved shape. So, it is better not to remove the plastic mold too soon. Let it dry up at least one hour. Otherwise you will get this rubbish. And you will have to remove entire tile and make a new one. If you liked this video, subscribe, there will be more))
